Walk-in customer
Bill someone who is not one of your parties, and record how they paid.
Make the bill
- On Sale (phone) or New Bill (computer), press Walk-in customer. You can also pick Walk-in customer in the party box.
- Enter the customer's name and mobile number if you have them. Both are optional. Enter moves from name to mobile, then to the items.
- Add the items and close the bill, as for any sale.
How the payment is recorded
- When the bill is closed, the whole amount is recorded as received in Cash. You do not need to do anything for a cash sale.
- If the customer pays by UPI or into the bank, press Take payment before closing, choose the bank account and add the reference. Only what is left, if anything, is taken as cash.
- If you already closed the bill, open it and press Change beside the payment. Choose the bank account and add the reference.
Good to know
- The customer's own name and mobile print on the bill and show on the bill link. "Walk-in customer" is only what you pick on the screen.
- A walk-in bill is always paid in full. It will not close if more has been recorded than the bill comes to, and once closed its payment cannot be removed, only moved to another account.
- To change the amount on a closed walk-in bill, reopen it with the Master PIN.
- Selling on credit? Create a party for that customer instead. A walk-in customer cannot owe you money.
- Cash is no longer offered in the party box. Bills made against Cash before this change stay as they are.
